Halloween fun down on the farm

Once again, Walby Farm Park helped children (and their families) celebrate Halloween in style.

Neil Milbourn and his staff had laid on a pumpkin trail and patch for children to follow and then pick their pumpkins. The children were then able to carve out their pumpkins and get creative.

We supplied Neil with over 4,000 pumpkins during the half-term holidays as he was expecting visitor numbers to be high – the day we visited, it was certainly busy and both kids and parents were having a great time!

Creating links with a local supplier

Lakes visit 1On Tuesday 10th October many members of our staff visited The Lakes Distillery in Bassenthwaite. We are re-launching a working relationship with the Cumbrian firm.

We have stocked their whisky, vodka and gin for some time now, however, we are excited to be launching a new range of The Lakes Distillery vodka and gin liqueurs.

It’s important that our sales, marketing and retail staff get know our stocked products so they are able to pass on their knowledge and expertise to customers and they gladly attended a tour of the distillery and undertook a tasting session.

From following the distillery process to how best to serve the premium products, you can be sure our staff are clued up!

Celebrating British Food Fortnight

British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of British food and drink and we’ve been spreading the word.

British Food fortnight 2017Brian Baxter, our sales & key accounts manager, has been visiting hospitals across the region. He’s pictured at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal on Thursday 28th September with Luke Jackson of Bruce & Luke’s Coffee in Carlisle where they were doing a fantastic job of promoting not only British food, but produce from our regional suppliers.

Brian went onto visit Royal Lancaster Infirmary on Friday and next week he visits Furness General Hospital in Barrow-in-Furness.

He’s been showcasing many wonderful products such as olives from Silver & Green, artisan muesli from Lakeland Mues and sweet treats from Penrith-based Traybakes.
