Caterforce board members take a tour

Caterforce visit websiteWe warmly welcomed the board members of Caterforce to our head office in Carlisle on Monday 13th March.

They were attending a board meeting and were given a VIP tour of our office, factory, warehouse and shop. The board consists of directors from other foodservice companies from across the country such as KFF based in Kent, Lynas Foodservice in Northern Ireland and Hunt’s in Dorset.

Caterforce is one of the biggest foodservice buying consortiums in the UK and we have been a member for many years now. Belonging to Caterforce enables us to take advantage of competitive pricing and the buying power of a large consortium, while retaining our flexibility of a family-run business. Our own brand products, Chefs’ Selections by Caterforce, provides customers with high quality goods at fantastic prices and the range is going from strength-to-strength.

Cumbria Trading Standards formalises a partnership

Trading standards websiteOn Monday 6th March 2017, Hannah-Jayne Gawthorpe from Trading Standards visited us to hand over a certificate which formalises a working partnership between us.

The Primary Authority Partnership certificate assures policy expertise and practical experience are brought together and regulations are effectively delivered.

Trading Standards ensure that our hygiene practices and meat are of the highest standard and we comply with all legal requirements regarding weights, labelling, traceability and much more.

John Diwell, our technical manager, says: “This certificate is valuable to us as we are announcing that we are entering a high value, two-way relationship with Trading Standards, which means that our customers can be sure that we are delivering a first-class service across the board.”

Generous customers donate to local cause

EVH news storyWe would like to thank all our generous customers for participating in our fundraising efforts for Eden Valley Hospice.

We held a collection at our food show in February 2017 in the memory of Brian Queen. Brian worked for us as our Area Sales Manager covering the Carlisle area and he passed away in September last year after spending some time in the hospice. A total of £204 was raised for this valuable cause.

The hospice, based in Carlisle, supports people who are living with a life limiting condition and relies solely on funding from the community. Supporting local causes has always and still is very important to us.

In support of the hospice, we are also sponsoring their Colour Run this year. It is held at Carlisle Racecourse on Sunday 14th May: to register visit their website.
