A warm welcome to Lake District Hotels

On Wednesday 18th January, we warmly welcomed a group of visitors from the Lake District Hotels to our head offices. The group was given a guided tour of our warehouses and butchery factory where a butchery demonstration of innovative new cuts of meat was given and then the visitors got hands on in sausage making!

The group included chefs and hotel managers from the chain of award-winning hotels from around the county and the visit was arranged by Daniella Hope, their Marketing Director. The purpose of the visit was to gain an insight into how we work, our ethics and our quality product offering and services.

After the factory visit, they were given a demonstration from Bruce and Luke’s coffee and were shown how to perfect the art of coffee making. They also got the opportunity to sample just some of the fantastic produce that we have to offer, including Frankliins soft drinks, Claire’s Handmande preserves and our own brand Chefs’ Selections by Caterforce cake.

Feedback from the visit was positive and we thoroughly enjoyed welcoming everyone!

The Sandwich Club customers raise hospice funds in aid of Brian

Brian Queen carBack in September, we lost a member of the Pioneer ‘family’. Our Sales Manager, Brian Queen lost his fight with cancer and passed away at Eden Valley Hospice.

Brian was a familiar figure around Carlisle and he proved to be an inspiration and friend to Sean Mullinder, owner of The Sandwich Club at Kingmoor Business Park. Sean was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue and underwent chemotherapy and surgery to fight the disease. He confided in Brian and together they forged a friendship based on shared experiences.

Just recently, Sean wanted to pay his respects to Brian and decided to fundraise for the hospice. All his staff at the sandwich shop brought in a bottle to raffle and kind customers bought tickets raising £77.

Sean’s outcome is a happy one and he has been in remission for a year now. We would like to pass on our thanks to him, his staff and customers for their act of kindness!
